E TYPE V12 REBUILD
This Jaguar Etype V12 engine rebuild is one of my recent rebuilds. The Jaguar V12 powerplant first appeared in etype series 3 in 1971. It went one to be one of the premier powerplants in the V12 class. Initial designs were originally planned for the XJ13 however it was shelved when Jaguar withdrew from racing. In the 60’s the original V12 design was overhauled and brought back to life in 1966. However it was shelved and finally saw production in the series III E-type in 1971.
As you can see the initial set of photos show bearing problems and the use of the process called line boring to resolve the problem.
